Terms of service
Last updated 30 August 2026
These are the terms for using PersistMemory. They are short on purpose: a document nobody finishes reading is not an agreement, it is a formality.
The service
PersistMemory stores information you give it and makes it searchable by you and by applications you connect. It is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, and we do not promise it will never be unavailable or never be wrong.
Your account
One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under yours, so keep your password and your API keys to yourself. Confirm your email address, because without it we have no way to reach you about your own account.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
What you put in
Your content stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service on it: to store it, to process it so it can be searched, and to send it to the model providers that perform that processing. Nothing else.
Do not upload content you have no right to store, and do not use this to hold other people’s personal information without a lawful basis for doing so. A forwarded message keeps its original author, and that author has rights you are responsible for respecting.
What you may not do
Do not attempt to reach another account’s data. Do not use the service to build a competing product from our own responses, to send unsolicited mail, or to store or distribute material that is illegal where you or we are.
Automated use is expected and welcome. Automated use that degrades the service for other people is not, and rate limits exist to draw that line before we have to.
Connected applications
When you approve an application, you are granting it the permissions shown on the consent screen and nothing more. What that application does with what it reads is between you and them. Revoke it from your dashboard at any time.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time, which deletes your data. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where the circumstances allow it we will tell you why and give you a chance to get your data out first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. This is a memory for your assistants, not a backup of record.
Changes
If these terms change materially, the date above changes and you are told by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards is how you accept the new version.
